Mitrakshar: English Literary Society
The English Literary Society is an integral part of the Department facilitating various activities throughout the
year. The society, which has been active since the inception of the college in 1967, conducts seminars, workshops,
and various other programs on a wide range of social, cultural, and literary topics. In 2013 the society was named
as 'Mitrakshar' by the students of the Department.
In order to ensure student participation and implementation of academic training that they undergo, the Literary
Society typically holds an annual student seminar. 'Chrysallis', the literary fest of the department is held
annually at the inter-university level.
The society is actively run by its efficient team of student office-bearers including President, Vice-President,
General Secretary, and Joint Secretary. Apart from this, the society inducts Volunteer and Creative coordinators
from each academic year giving students a chance to exhibit their leadership and administrative skills. A team of
faculty representatives, as Conveners and Co-Conveners ensure smooth functioning of the society.
